Vox has nominated two ‚independent‘ candidates without ties to the Canary Islands for the Senate lists of the People’s Party (PP) in Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
This decision comes as part of a national agreement between Vox and the PP.
Meanwhile, on the islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro, the PP will select its own candidates.
In Tenerife, José Francisco García Paramio has been chosen.
He previously ran as Vox’s candidate in León in 2023 and holds a doctorate in telecommunications engineering from the University of León.
He replaces the Cabildo de Tenerife’s Culture Councillor, José Carlos Acha.
For Gran Canaria, Vox has selected Alba Moreno Santa, who served as the communication director for Vox at the Madrid City Council and stood for election in Alcalá de Henares in 2023.
She takes over from María del Mar Arévalo.
